Jim reaches out to an special friend, "I Am A Commotion", aka "Frosty"


Jim Bennett was born and raised near Shelbyville, Kentucky. His family was involved with horses and Jim showed horses from an early age. Jim brings a unique combination of academic training and work experience in human behavior modification, psychology and sociology together with a life time of horsemanship. His goal was to create a supportive environment for his clients to improve on their riding and driving skills, while improving their relationship with their horse(s). A place where people who share a love of horses can get away from the stress of their daily lives to relax, enjoy riding and spending some time. A life-long horse lover, Nancy began riding seriously in 1998 when she and her daughter started taking riding lessons at J. Bennett Farms.  She now coordinates the riding lesson program at Bennett Farms, gives riding lessons, and has a special interest in teaching the very young as well as those who, like herself, came later in life to the sport.

When not at the barn, Nancy is hard at work at her orthodontic practice where she helps both children and adults find the smiles they've always wanted through either traditional orthodontics or the new Invisalign technique.  Nancy's Orthodontic Office is located at 3932 Wilshire Blvd, Suite 300, Los Angeles, California. Sharon Grosshans, Riding Instructor and Interscholastic Coordinator

Sharon Grosshans is a 4th generation equestrian. As a juvenile she showed Equitation extensively in the mid-west. She has over 20 years experience as an Equitation instructor in the Los Angeles area. She is passionate about helping her students realize their goals.

A strong advocate for her riding students, she began working with the United States Equestrian Federation to establish the Saddleseat and Western School League of Greater Los Angeles, (SWSL). It was her personal goal that students in grades 7-12 be recognized for the time spent riding and their riding skills. The SWSL Horse Shows help realize the requirements for the new USEF Varsity Letter Program.

Jennifer Granger became involved with horses at the age of 12 after she finally talked her parents into buying her a horse. She went on to show Morgans and Saddlebreds in harness and under saddle in English and Western divisions in the Midwest for the next ten years. While attending William Woods University, she earned an Equestrian Science degree and had the good fortune to ride with renowned trainer, Gayle Lampe. She later moved to California where she has been teaching riding for the last ten years.
